Acne is an opportunistic fighter. It hits you when you're already down. It usually doesn't lead the charge; but it shows up after a long battle has been fought.
When Acne does show up, it's the sign of an already compromised liver. Acne assaults the liver, by piggybacking on a two-pronged strategy, toxins and hormones.
Acne and Toxins
This avenue of attack shows how good an opportunistic enemy acne is. Daily we battle exhaust fumes, smoke, and all kinds of pesticides in the food we eat. Also, metals in the water we drink, and other toxic agents. The liver must filter out this garbage.
The constant onslaught frustrates and slows down the liver. Acne then quietly slips in. Do you get constipated? Does your acne appear after your constipation has gone?
How about a skin rash? When you've finally gotten rid of your rash, up pops acne. Has this ever happened to you? This shows the nature of acne'opportunistic! It comes after a battle has already been waged. Be vigilant! Know your body.
Acne and Hormones.
Hormones out of whack are a major cause of acne. Regulating hormones is a function of the liver. Too many hormones in the system results in over-abundance of oil production in the skin.
This leads to clogged pores resulting in acne. The groundwork for acne has been laid by a hormonal imbalance. Acne loves to piggyback.
Function of the Liver
The liver functions along these lines. The food you eat is broken down by your stomach acids. The blood in your stomach is like a train. It picks up and carries the food throughout your body. Before your food goes on that train ride though, it must be screened.
That's were your liver comes in.
It screens the baggage (food/blood). Then the baggage passes through the liver check point. As it passes through, it is stamped approved by a bile marker. Bile assists with further breakdown for easier digestion and absorption. The nutrient-rich blood is then sent on its way.
Conclusion
Acne is frustrating. We can be diligent and watch for constipation and other known acne forerunners. But then, out of the blue, acne appears.
One reason for its sudden appearance could be an over abundance of hormones racing around in your system. These hormones may not present a trigger. So you believe that your acne came from out of nowhere. That's the frustrating part.
We can win the battle though. Our fight is an internal fight. Simply put, to hold off acne, we need a strong liver.
