Retirement Party: Free At Last, But How To Celebrate Your Retirement

Author: Gail Leino

When planning a retirement party, first, decide on a budget, next, consider the personality, hobbies, and retiree's plans for the future, to determine the best retirement party possible.

If the retirement party is for a fellow employee, everyone can chip in, to make the party a success. With a little help, it will be easy to have a perfect retirement party.

Often, retirees have dreamed for years of being able to travel, and see the world. A great retirement party sure to satisfy a wander lust is a Hawaiian luau. Everyone could pitch in to purchase fight tickets to Hawaii, and even hotel accommodations (many of which may be purchased online relatively inexpensively) if cost permits.

Party goers could wear Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, hand out leis at the door, and drink seawater punch* from coconut halves or hollowed pineapples, served with a delicious pina colada cake*.

Serving Hawaiian theme party foods, and wearing Hawaiian clothing, would be the perfect way to set the stage for this wonderful surprise. Funny or serious remembrances of the retiree could be shared, and the last person to speak, could surprise the retiree with the perfect vacation, to begin retirement, and a retirement party certain to be remembered.

Recipes:

3 eggs, C real mayonnaise, C oil, 1 pkg. lime jello mix, 1 banana, 1/8 C coconut flakes, 1 container cool whip, 1 pkg banana pudding mix, 1C pineapple juice and water (or coconut milk) Cake and pudding mixes (just the powder) in a bowl, stirred.

Combine the dry ingredients, eggs, mayo, oil, water, juice, and/or coconut milk. Mix well with electric mixer, then fold in pineapple. Bake at 350 until toothpick comes out clean. Set in fridge to completely cool.
